Foster Independence

In Montessori schools, infants, toddlers, and young children are taught that their independence is both respected and valued. We encourage free movement, provide choices within carefully considered limits, and make sure every child feels heard. As they mature, children develop time management skills and engage in practical life tasks, like cleaning and food preparation, which they can use both in the classroom and at home. This emphasis on nurturing independence builds a deep sense of confidence and empowerment in each child.

Follow the Child

This approach begins with educators who are specially trained to understand the developmental stages of the children they work with. By honoring each child’s growth journey, we create learning environments that cater to their individual needs. We understand that learning is not a straightforward path, and each child needs varying degrees of support and challenge at different stages. Montessori students are also provided with plenty of opportunities to explore and deeply engage in areas that ignite their personal interests.

Use Formative Assessment

The word "assessment" originates from a Latin term meaning "to sit beside," which aligns perfectly with our approach in the Montessori classroom. Teachers sit alongside children as they work, observing and gathering insights in real time. The Montessori method includes the three-period lesson, designed to assess understanding and mastery throughout the learning process. Teachers also take detailed notes during observations, allowing them to identify areas where students may need extra support or more challenges. With daily formative assessments, we can adjust teaching and learning immediately, ensuring each child receives the tailored guidance they need to succeed.

Value Kindness and Peace

Our students are encouraged to grow into global citizens. From an early age, they explore world geography and learn about the traditions and customs of various cultures. We place a strong emphasis on teaching vital skills like conflict resolution and provide support as children navigate social interactions. Central to our philosophy is the belief that peace and kindness are the core of meaningful education and essential for the betterment of humanity.

Integrate Nature

Our classrooms, enriched with plants and animals that children actively care for, often have a museum-like ambiance. Depending on the subjects they’re exploring, students may encounter a variety of captivating specimens, such as dissected owl pellets, ancient fossils, and radiant geodes, to name just a few. At the primary level, natural sciences like botany and zoology are introduced. We also prioritize outdoor learning, ensuring that students have ample opportunities to connect with and learn directly from the natural world.

Inspire Work in Beautiful Classrooms

Upon entering a Montessori classroom, the distinctive atmosphere is immediately noticeable. We emphasize the use of natural materials and maximize natural light. The room is filled with living plants and animals, and low shelves make it easy for children to access their work independently. The space is designed to support both group activities and individual tasks, offering children the freedom to choose between sitting on the floor or in a chair. The carefully chosen, high-quality materials inspire creativity and encourage children to approach their work with a sense of beauty and purpose.

At its heart, Montessori education is a way of engaging with children that supports each one in developing into the person they are meant to be.
